"Sue" for Kimberly
"Crazy Quilt" commission 8/22 based on the Paul Brown illustrations
"Phantom" portrait model on the foundation stallion mold
"Destry" custom portrait model on the Adios mold
All I wanted to do the whole time I was adding the markings on this horse was pet that pink velvet nose!- This is a portrait of "Able."
Here's another fun ISH commission piece that'll be traveling to Canada in the new year! Love this guy!
Here is Samuel Addams- he's a portrait model of our super mutt! Completed in 5/21, he is a custom from the Breyer Labrador mold with a new set of ears, tail and tweeked face, too. So happy to have him as part of our "herd!"
Here's the handsome boy, Keeno. He belonged to Cindy for many years and his portrait horse has been a long time coming!
So glad he's been completed and is ready to go off to his new home soon! |
This is Nora, our 2 year old German shepherd from Czech lines. Her portrait model was created using the Seunta resin called "Pink" with some modifications. I trimmed almost all of her hair, especially the "mane" area as it was quite thick on the original. I took the Dremel and slimmed down her sides and waist, trimmed her tail so it was way less fluffy before I slightly adjusted the legs and feet. The ears also got quite the overhaul to make them more substantial as did the top jaw. I never did get the ears as slim as I wanted them but they're close.
I'm debating going back and ordering another resin to create a portrait of one of our other dogs- it is such a lovely model to work on! Completed 1/21 |
A Custom Daydreamer resin painted in the likeness of this pretty Arabian mare '17-18 for Morgan.
This model is a donation piece to an online auction benefiting the River's Edge Horse Rescue in Newton, NJ. It is a portrait of their horse, Diamond. Credit to River's Edge for the handsome head shot! I hope to do more portrait horses to raise money for them in the future. Here's their website:

Check them out and please consider supporting the great work they do there by making a donation!

This fun model was completed in August 2017 and is a portrait model of an Arabian cross I found while flipping through Google Images. It's not everyday I find a beautiful horse with great pictures of BOTH sides online! I tweaked the pattern just slightly in some places to match the Yasmine's body and movement a little better but it's still pretty close! Note: I could not find a watermark/copyright on the real horse photos so credit to whoever the lovely photographer was! |
"Tiny Tuff" a portrait model of a very handsome paint horse gelding!
Here is one of my favorite portrait models to date! It's a good thing I like her a lot because she took almost a year in between prepping, re-re sculpting and painting! This is a portrait horse "in the likeness of" Kim's Diablo. She was made to be a daughter or niece of him and has new mare parts to fit the bill. Diablo's spotting was so cool that I decided to "pull" quite a few of his clusters for this new horse who has been named Chica. I hope she brings Kim and her family years of enjoyment as Diablo did way back when!
I can only lay claim to the finish work on this handsome dude, oh yeah, and I fixed his busted off tail!
Andrea asked me to paint him in the likeness of an Gypsy Vanner stallion named Ghost Rider. You can find pictures of him on the Gypsy MVP website. Their whole site is worth taking a look at because it's just chock full of equine eye-candy!
This guy wasn't quite finished when this picture was taken. He eventually got a little more pastel work on his right front and his hooves were painted and shaded, too. He is probably the heaviest horse I've painted in a long time having an entirely new neck, resculpted head, new mane, tail and pretty much his whole hind end as well.
He certainly was a challenge and a pleasure to create and I wish Andrea luck showing him this year! Can't wait to upload photos of him and his ribbons!

Mokey: The Summer Pony
Here's Mokey, the Summer Pony, a CM completed in fall of '15 for Carrie. I would recommend reading the book as well since it's a light read for anyone who likes horses. As a bonus, a young reader can learn, through the main character's experiences, about horse care and things to look out for. A quick read that can impart knowledge on young minds- WIN!

Sue Sifton "Joey" resin was a lucky find and Oh So Perfect for Guin's portrait model! The funny thing about the pony portrait is, every year the actual pony gets lighter but her resin portrait will be forever 13-15 years old color wise!
