This handsome new Wyatt is fresh out of the studio! Finally! He's been in the works for while but I've had hardly any time to paint between work commitments and being sick. I'm happy to have him listed on MH$P finally and looking for a great new home! He's ready to make someone an awesome performance horse this year!

The newly fallen snow from last weekend gave Ms. Nighthawk a fluffy place to lay down in the afternoons this week. I rarely get concerned when I look out and see one of the girls down- even if it's snowy and cold. They've always enjoyed a good "snow nap!" Big mare seems to like to experience the elements much like Cruise. He'd always stand out in the rain and so does she. It poured ALL day and she stood out in it until it started to clear up. Then she took cover in the SheShed. . . nutty horse! This was a busy week and everyone was sick (I even took the day off on Tuesday-THAT never happens!) I did manage to lounge the girls one afternoon in between the rain, wind and sneezing. This time I snapped some pictures and realized just how often I get shots of my horse with here eyes closed! But when she's awake and listening- she's SO pretty! LOL
Thursday through . . . 10 minutes ago . . . it was a crazy time! First of all, I had a meeting Thursday afternoon and was able to stop home on my way there. In between school, home and the meeting it did every type of precipitation I've even seen! Leaving it poured, then turned to white out snow with a pocket of freezing rain. Then it got sunny a mile later and immediately blizzarded again when I walked in the door at home. Light snow . . . OK Fine. But this is Not OK! Guin headed for the barn ASAP! Seemed as quick as it started it was over again but then it got bitterly cold with a constant wind that sounded like a long, slow train passing all night long. Friday was cold and windy and then Saturday we got probably 3 inches. Here's the back on my firetruck responding to a fire alarm call. Yes, the roads went straight to hell in a hand basket. Meanwhile, we were on our way to Newark's Prudential Center for Disney on Ice! What a show it was- super cute! But, oh, the prices of food and gifts: cotton candy and popcorn- $33.00. My nephew wanted a snow cone in a Olaf cup - $18.00! The show was great though! They lit the ice on fire several times so that was pretty cool! It never stopped snowing so the roads were awful the whole way home, too. The good news was that all the snow made for great dog sled pulling . . . or at least our version of it, on Sunday morning! Tow strap+sledding disk+shepherd = dog sled? Late morning we headed out to NYC to see Aladdin on Broadway. I've never seen the whole movie but this turned out to be the best play I've seen, hands down! The costumes were amazing and each song outdid the one before it! Disney doesn't mess around! I snapped these pic coming out of the helix as we left the tunnel. I always love the lighting on the buildings in the afternoon.
Tomorrow I hope to stay home and get some painting done while I shake off this sinus infection once and for all! Hopefully I'll have actual model pictures for you tomorrow! Have a great week everyone!
She was dreadfully traumatized (like she almost fell on her face) when she saw the trailer parked on the side of the barn. Yeah, the one that's been there since the beginning of December, the one she can see as soon as she steps out of the stall into the paddock- yeah- that one! Luckily, she got over it and we had a good time! This morning she and Guinivere rolled after the heavy rains ended. They do that in the stone dust and I swear they look 10 and 5 years younger! Finished 2 horses this weekend: one for Rebecca and one that is going to Emily's. Dominante eventually got two blue eyes and some white on the tip of his tail and the PAS got a really cool, really funky white marking on his face/cheek.
I'm excited to work on the sculpting for the Wintersong and the next Dominante that are already in progress. There's also a primed Wyatt waiting patiently on my shelves all prepped and ready to go . . . frame overo anyone?! Also, it's been decided that my NaMoPaiMo horse this year will be a Giselle with a new mane and tail along with some added feathering. I'm chomping at the bit to start her but will, somehow, hold off 'til February! Have a great week everyone! Yup, that's what I had waiting for me when I got home today!
Did anyone else know that Aves sold honey? As a matter of fact, it's wonderful and I plan to throw another bottle in with every order from now on! I need epoxy about as often as I need honey anyway! I've got a Dominante CM and Emily's Othello that are in the works and eating epoxy like a kid eat Girl Scout Cookies! I'm glad to have a "fresh batch" to mess with. |
