OK. That's enough for one day! Nokota is DONE and listed on MHSP. Fingers crossed that tomorrow I'll get the Keeno portrait pony completed for Cindy and the Stone Chips Arab done and listed. If it's really hot and nasty outside I might continue with the resculpting on the SM Breyer pony and the cranky Wintersong!

Remember all those models I said were in process and "almost done" for weeks now? Well, it was hot as heck today so they're getting done one at a time and being listed TODAY! In between cleaning the house, mowing the front lawn, going to a fire call, delivering strawberry plants and stopping by school I got a lot of models done today. Some are just for fun: A few I wish I could show myself: There's more coming- maybe even tonight!
Check out my ads on Model Horse Sales Pages- I'd LOVE to run a few of these guys to the post office tomorrow when the weather cools down! I just realized that I hadn't put the second day of pics up from the Sussex County Fair. We went on the last day because the drafts were scheduled to be hitched up again in the afternoon. Unfortunately, the crazy weather the day before had mushed up the shows and we ended up missing the big guys. We did, however, get to watch some people fly over jumps (for the most part). I messed around taking pictures in between sipping my 4H chocolate milkshake. I don't know when any of these people are but they each rode their gleaming bay horses through a course that would scare the crap out of me! This morning we went to my "Happy Place." Also known as the Sussex County Sunflower Maze. It was hot, the bathrooms were nasty (must've been a busy weekend) but there were fields of flowers in bloom and Monarch butterflies EVERYWHERE so I was totally worth it! I could tell that next week or the week after it will probably be better with more flowers but, this time of year you never know where there'll be a nasty storm that'll knock all the flowers down. The season can end quickly so I was not missing this opportunity! Maybe tomorrow or Wednesday I'll do that painting thing I occasionally sit for!
Happy Monday everyone! . . . and the big mare was incredibly interested in the boxes! The only logical thing to do seemed to be to dress her up with the boxes. So, there are not model horse related pictures here today just cell phone shots of my horse wearing Smart Pak boxes! After that, we decided the chickens needed to take a pony ride. Here's Trouble atop Guinivere. The pony didn't mind and the chicken's mind was blown so she didn't know what to do with herself but she hung on! In studio news, I've got a bunch of little guys primed and ready to be painted during next week's predicted hot and nasty weather. It's my last week before school starts up again so I'm going to try to finish up some lingering projects and some new ones, too!
Have a great weekend everyone! The other night we had a bonfire with our neighbor and I found this guy on the wood pile just minding his own business . . .
I braided Casey's hair the other afternoon because it was so darn hot. She, of course, could not hold it together and pose for a decent picture, not during dinner anyway. Well, at least her hair looks pretty!
Hanging out with the girls in the afternoon almost makes me stop missing Maine . . . almost! Friday afternoon my girl and I took a ride up to the Sussex Farm and Horse Show (AKA the State Fair) and got to see some really handsome horses. It took a few hours of waiting, even though the schedule said 5:00 start, but it was more than worth it to get to see the Six Horse Hitches. There were 4 teams, 3 Belgians and 1 Percheron. Here are a bunch of pictures because I snapped until my little old camera's battery was nearly dead!
Beside waking up my kid, this is my favorite part of the morning: We call it the "Mare Stare" and it's usually accompanied with some nickers and whinnies in stereo as soon as the back door opens. Ever since the Big Mare's farrier visit right before we left on vacation I have been on a never ended quest to find bell boots that actually fit her feet. She's a size 3 shoe and we're now on our 4th pair of bell boots because they're either super huge (Davis Draft XL and L) or too small (Arma XL). We've finally found a decent size with the Davis Horse XL (I think) but I'm waiting for a second opinion before I buy them in a zillion colors but I can hardly wait! For now, sparkly silver is the way to go! Also, because I am ridiculous, I did THIS to an old metal cabinet I bought off the side of the road for $20.00. Finally, all my English stuff for the Big Mare is in one place, contained, clean and away from whatever might want to mess with it! Next I'll set up the other cabinet with Guinivere's stuff!
Ahh, summer! As soon as we came back from vacation the weather was hot and nasty and perfect for painting! I listed and sold the CM Bobby Jo the first day back. I'm glad to have her headed off to a new home. Holy Spots! The SM is new, the classic Haflinger foal is from my show string and the Phar Lap was just listed today! Check out their ads on modelhorsesalespages to see additional pictures of them and some of the other models I have listed.
