Question: Have any other Weebly users noticed something unusual on their "Stats" page? Yeah, did you notice that?! Seventy eight thousand page views . . . all in the same day! Really, I'd like to say I'm flattered but I'm sure it's a glitch. Fun to see on the homepage either way!

One week ago today Breyerfest ended . . . he's what I got: Vahana is my favorite! He's the model that I REALLY wanted from the first time I saw him online. I usually don't fall in love with models like that. Long story short, we lost at the numbers game in the special run line and paid a little extra for him at room sales. TOTALLY worth it! Kaalee is the model that my buddy scored for me going though the line and she's lovely. I didn't know how much I would like her when I saw her in person! Now I'm afraid she may cost me even more money as I'm kind of feeling the need to get an arabian presentation set or full costume for her. The stablemate is adorable, too! He fell into the "so ugly he's pretty" category and I just had to have him. My daughter loves him, too, so he's a keeper for sure! I'm also noticing that, despite my claims, I may collect little horses. That section now includes a Chips Clydesdale, the Breyerfest friesian, a SM club Wolfgang and a Moxie resin (everyone EXCEPT the Breyerfest model is actually for sale if you're interested!) In yard news, the lillies are still blooming beautifully, the shepherd is still completely unaware of her leg issue and our chicken, Amber, likes to be pushed on the swing . . . Hope everyone has a wonderful week!
The daylilies are blooming like crazy these days! These orange ones came with the house and have a really great triple petal pattern. I'll have to upload some pictures of the fancy colored ones we've got in bloom for the first time this year! The second brood of swallow babies is almost ready to fly the nest above the chicken coop door. No time like the present either because they've started to make a mess on the porch below . . . gosh are they cute though! I got a chance to do some sculpting work out on the back porch the other day while the kid and dog played in the $7.88 Walmart pools. I have a nice shady spot out there and got a lot done. I added a new mane and tail to another Stone Chips, base coated a Safari drafter and then gave a miniature donkey an attitude adjustment . . . she's going to be named "Rebel Without a Cause" when she's all done! I'm excited to do a little more sculpting on her and get onto the painting phase! I'm also doing something that I rarely do: listing a resculpted but unpainted horse for sale. Reason being, physical therapy for the dog cost over one hundred dollars per session and she's making GREAT progress so I don't want to slow down. This guy has been sitting for over a month an I can't seem to decide what color to paint this darn horse but I really want to see him get something done! Give him a great home, and a paint job today-shoot me and e-mail if you want to add him to your collection! For the next post I'll have to snap a few obligatory pics of my Breyer fest Haul even though I didn't actually attend.
My pick-up people were THE BEST! Shout out to Caitlin and Maddie! While friends are driving near and far as they depart from Breyer fest, I'm wrapping up some things in the studio today. . . First, the Geronimo model is done! He's currently listed on the sales pages so go check him out! I also was in "Clear off the desk mode" yesterday and was able to wrap up work on these two little cuties. They are retired members of my daughter's carpet herd that now have a new look and are looking for a new home. Their selling price will go into her college/truck/whatever account! My husband and a buddy also painted the project truck yesterday and I managed to talk the guys into spraying a horse for me! He's a little Schleich . . . I wasn't ready to commit to having them take on a traditional Breyer . . . but next time I will because he came out great! He (and the truck) look amazing especially out in the sunlight with all the heavy metallic in the finish. If you, or someone you know, is a fan of "General Motors Le Mans Blue Metallic", shoot me and e-mail and this guy can be yours for a song! Now that the desk is cleared off I've got room, and time, to work on my little special project- Bwa, Ha, Ha! :0)
Safe travels home everyone! So, I'm going to declare today a success overall! First of all, I was able to complete, seal and list this cutie pie chips Clydesdale model. He sold within moments and will be traveling to Florida on Monday! I was also able to make very good progress on the Geronimo stock horse in black frame overo. He needs a few more hours of fine tuning and detail work but I hope to list him tomorrow. E-mail me ahead of time if he should be standing in YOUR stables! My mother and I had a very successful time at Pompton Lakes's town wide Garage Sale Day! We got lots of pretty things for the lawn. The girlie got a bag of fun little Disney characters. This horse was in the bag but was pretty beat up. Not sure who's horse he is (I thought I knew all the Disney horses!) He's in primer to be painted as my new stable mascot! I think he's got the cutest look on his face! Also got to prime a few Safari/Schlech models to "play" with because I'm not sure what color to paint the Gypsy Vanner or the Carrick model yet. Best not to mess with them until I'm sure!
Well, first of all, I'm not actually AT Breyerfest but I am fortunate enough to attend the weekend vicariously through a couple of good friends. I feel like I'm there with all the updates and pictures, which is great, because I've spent my day driving almost 150 miles from vet to therapist for the dog. In between trips I'm also watching what people buy on the SR line and then instantly list on sales pages and eBay and just roll my eyes. I'm not sure how many of my models hit the show table at the Open show today but Speedy Spots got a 6th! Yay Speedy Spots! Why my computer takes Morgan's pictures and flips them around I'll never know!
Hopefully I'll be able to complete another future show horse or two in the next day or so. I'm still working on the sabino markings on the Chips Clydesdale and the over Geronimo needs mapping- lots and lots of mapping! Pictures to follow when they start to look more like something interesting! Have a great weekend everyone! The bad news is it's hot as heck outside. The good news is that means studio time! In between shuttling my kid around and helping out at the Safety Town program today I'll be painting! Looks like this Stone Chips Drafter is heading the way of black sabino. I honestly tried to make him a nice, shaded gray instead but the workable fixative was making the finish crackle. After sanding him all down again and repriming I wasn't going to mess around. Instead, he'll get a shaded black finish, maybe a few dapples and some wild sabino markings! Geronimo wants to be a frame overo . . . having done one of them in awhile . . . by that I mean like a month! The coolest thing is that everyone around here is getting prepped and primed these last few days- even the family Bronco/truck (we're still not sure what we're calling it) After 2 donor trucks, one named Bessie, a bunch of random parts and a TON of bodywork and sanding . . . we went from this: To this: In just a matter of hours yesterday afternoon! For once, I wasn't the one coming back inside covered with primer and stinking up the yard with fumes!
So, as you can see, there are all sorts of Horse related things happening around here this week. If you're headed down to Breyerfest, have fun, keep cool and be safe! (Also if anyone wants to send me that Shannondell Auction Model they just revealed pictures of done in chestnut overo that'd be neat, too!)
All these guys are in the corner of my eye during studio work these days which has been pretty productive. There is a Geronimo with a new mane and tail who's looking for some paintwork this week and a Gypsy Vanner with a new mane and roses. I've got a color picked for him already- just need some time to work on it now! Steve's new Tiger horse is done as well. Here's a updated shot of him in sunlight!
Happy 4th of July everyone! Hope your celebrations were fun and safe! Our township fireworks got rained out so they're being held tomorrow night- yippee! Cruise and Guin were gracious enough to pose for a few shots in their patriotic apparel . . . translation: I bribed the hell out of them with cookies if they stood still long enough for me to snap a photo! In studio news, I've got the Secretariat finished and sealed. He'll be heading out with his warmblood buddy by the end of the week. I also started a Geronimo by resculpting the mane and tail. He'll be primed tomorrow and ready for a color choice. In addition to those guys, I decided it was a good idea to saw the mane off a Gypsy Vanner and resculpt the mane myself instead. That's done and I stuck a bunch of sculpted roses up in his hair. He is getting final prep work and will also get some shots of primer tomorrow. Here's hoping the humidity doesn't spike up in the next few days! I've got too many horses to prime and too much mulch to move!
Have a great rest of the week everyone! We interrupt the regularly schedule blog silence to bring you- an update with photos! This week is composed of 2 CM models on bodies I would never choose to paint myself but someone else had great plans for them- sure hope I was able to make their model horse dreams a reality! Here is Steve's newest herd member (pending approval of the photos!) This handsome tiger horse stallion has been a long time coming because the first body model that we purchased had what I can only imagine is the dreaded "Vinegar Syndrome" reported in certain Breyer models. The box wreaked of vinegar before I opened it and the model sat outside for weeks with no resolution to the stink. It was also weeping liquid out the vent hole. After doing some research I decided NOT to paint that horse and I was able to acquire another body from a local friend instead. This guy is the result! Better news, my daughter is painting the vinegar infected horse and he's currently yellow with red polka dots! This guy is a Secretariat with a new mane and tail. I'm liking the way he's coming out even though he's still in the Ugly Stage right now. The last few afternoons we've spent time lazing out in the backyard for a hour or so after the heat of the day breaks. The chickens, Amber and Sophia, enjoy hanging out with us. They're the only two that get to roam around a little because they stay close to us and are easily caught. They even strut right past the dog, probably to drive her nuts! (Sophia is in front an Amber is pecking around in the weeds behind her) The wild turkeys have also been making themselves right at home around the back yard. They were hanging out on the porch of the chicken coop this morning!
