Of course I brought along a few plastic ponies so I wouldn't bother my kid with endless photos!
This shot was especially neat because the beach was deserted AND the Veteran's Memorial was perched high atop the hill behind her!
After we played around on the beach we drove up to the monument to have a look around. It was pretty crowded at the top and the actual monument doesn't open all the time (never this time of year anyway) so we walked around and followed a trail or two as well.
Gnomeo looked especially handsome in the forest but I wish I had gotten a good shot of him with either PA, NJ or NY in the background- oh well- next time!
Once we'd been to the highest point, it seemed a logical next step to take this two along when we went down to sea level as well! It was foggy and gross at home but the sun shone brightly for almost 3 hours while we walked the beach. As if it knew we were done, it started to drizzle as we went for lunch and then poured the whole way home- perfect timing!
In between, I got a few shots of the same two on the beach. Chimerical may have, low key, tried to float away on me once and I got wet fishing her out. No regrets!
Meanwhile, Twix, the pony portrait has started her journey towards her family in California today. Safe travels!
