Have a great night!
The weather these last few days has been gorgeous! We managed to get out in the boats a few days and visited a few of our old paddling grounds before the real cold weather hits. Below is a shot of my buddy Miriam and I paddling around in the Monksville Reservoir. The water level is down pretty low because they're doing bridge work. This particular day my daughter didn't want to come with us so I stopped home and grabbed the Shepherd instead. She had a great time except when we had to go underneath the roadway for a little while. All 95 pounds of her found their way onto my lap because she was a little freaked out. She had fun anyway- she loves to be paddled around checking everything out as we float by- especially the birds! Today was an absolutely gorgeous Indian Summer Weekend and I managed to finish up this handsome Marchador (pardon the bad lighting in the photo) He's got a repositioned tail, tucked head and added mane and forelock. I also gave him a little bit of a droopy lower lip just for fun! He's just been listed to the sales pages! Go check him out because if he sells quick I might be able to score myself a Del Mar - the temptation is SO strong to go snatch her up!
Have a great night!

Here's the studio's latest creation . . . She's a custom Copperfox Exmoor pony and she's going to sales pages this afternoon! I did extensive reworking of her mane and added to her tail as well. Braids have been added since her inspiration was the end of summer at horse camps when the campers get to do whatever they want as they spend their last days with their horses. This pretty lady's been braided to the max by a lot of little hands! I think I might even put some bows in to match the colors of the season!
Shout out to "Old School" fans everywhere! My Diesel stablemate reiner arrived today . . . He's super cute and super blue. I'll compliment Breyer on the QC for this one! He's got beautiful shading, nice pinking and only 2 very minor little white spots and one's underneath so I shouldn't even count that one! Pretty sure he'll be looking for greener, er um, bluer pastures simply because I don't really collect stablemates (and because they seem to be selling for quite a pretty penny these days!)
If I'm going to have the SM Reiner I think I'd like a nice Creme Brulee and the Diesel Appaloosa For now he's "sliding" across the top of my computer desk and looking handsome doing it! Despite being kind of tricky to get a good picture of, Forever Saige/ Namib was a fun model to repaint and this is the first one I've done! She started as a Namib but had a few flaws in her finish- still VERY pretty though! That saved her for a few months before she called out to me for a new look . . . black frame overo . . . perfect for the wild looking lady that she is!
She's done and listed on MH$P as of tonight so go check her out! Exmoor pony to come later- I hope! We've got a busy week ahead of us and an even busier weekend so I'm trying to finish off a few more lovelies tonight that have been waiting patiently for detail work and/or sealing. Have a great night! This one might really be the last Halloween horse for this year unless I somehow find myself with a TON of spare time this week! He's probably my favorite one (so far!) and has just been listed to eBay to see how things go!
Now that he's done I'll be finishing up a Namib this afternoon and, hopefully, my Copperfox Exmoor pony as well. They both need only some minor detail work so they should be listed on sales pages this afternoon. The Copperfox might be staying here though . . . can't decide yet! Hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful fall day and I hope my friends on the Northwest coast are fairing well through their storm! OK this might REALLY be the last of the Halloween horses for this year! John Henry done in this year's webby tobiano pattern as just bee listed to the sales pages this afternoon. He'll be moving over to eBay in a day or so if he doesn't sell first! In other news, the Marchador has found a great new home across the country! Can't wait to paint another one of those guys- I might even start prepping one today since we're off and the girlie is napping! In the works we have: CM Namid Andalusian Hackney w/spikes Nokota for Olivia and the Cruise resin I've been trying to finish for MONTHS now- it might actually happen one of these days! Here's a neat picture from last night. I guess I can cross off "growing gourd vines up to the roof" off my bucket list, if it was ever on it to begin with! This is the sun room gutter and roof. The vine grew up the rose of sharon tree along side the house and then flopped over and anchored onto the roof. We probably won't have time to get a gourd off the roof since it's getting colder and colder every night but it still looks awfully neat!
I never thought I'd be sitting here tonight telling you that I just sold my 7th Halloween themed horse of the year but I am! They're very popular so far and I'm really pleased because I'm really having a blast painting them! Not to mention that we're doing a TON of construction around here (shed and chicken coop!) so the extra cash is awefully nice, too! I've still got the Sherman Morgan on eBay for another day and I MIGHT have time to paint one more in this neat webby pattern on the beautiful John Henry mold. He's nearly primed so, if the weather holds out, he'll be done this weekend. I've also just completed and listed this handsome Marchador guy . . . I'd love to see him go to a show home because even when I do show, I don't usually show gaited horses (just plain don't know enough about them) He was fully prepped and has ALL the bells and whistles to make someone VERY happy!
Speaking of being happy . . . we had this awesome rainbow the other afternoon and it lasted for almost a half and hour! Here's the latest in the Halloween Horse department: Misty to match the Stormy. She looks even prettier than the Stormy, I think, because she's so stark white. Nice contrast overall on her! Listing here on Sales pages tonight! Yvonda's Cleveland Bays (soon to be Haflingers in a harness set up) are pretty much done! I'm am so excited to get them home to her and see them eventually painted and totally tacked up.
It rained pretty much the whole day today as the husband was taking down our old shed with the Bobcat but we zipped out for a little while to take pictures of "rain on stuff" as my daughter put it. The flowers worked out to be the best and I"m so glad that we still have so many in bloom this late in the year, especially since it's been so dry lately. Here are our favorites: |
