I did manage to get some work done in the studio: Khemo has a date with the dremel, epoxy next week?! The Gypsy Vanner is looking MUCH spottier and the Corazon foal got more shading.
Even though I'm going nuts prepping for our big fundraiser on Saturday (Bloomingdale, NJ firehouse is hosting a Beefsteak/Tricky Tray for us as a Fundraiser for Brianna O'Connor, one of my former students and the daughter and sister of two of our firemen. Tickets still available! ) I did manage to get some work done in the studio: Khemo has a date with the dremel, epoxy next week?! The Gypsy Vanner is looking MUCH spottier and the Corazon foal got more shading. My lunar eclipse (before it was actually eclipsing) getting swallowed up by clouds! Blah! Glad I snapped a few shots before it totally disappeared. Hope someone out there can see it tonight!

These guys will be the next 4 off the table but I'm not sure which order they'll leave yet. The Cody is bound to be a Halloween model so he'll be heading out shortly (I hope!) and the Corazon is actually more done than he looks in bad light. Khemo needs more epoxy work and a date with the dremel again, too. So, today we had off for the Jewish holiday and I got to run up to the Storm King outdoor museum with some girlfriends for the morning before returning to town to canvas and ask for donations for the firehouse tricky tray. Here are some shots of the awesome grounds and sculptures. Of course there were butterflies! Check out the site for Storm King:
http://www.stormking.org/ No, I wasn't in Chicago this weekend. . . not sorry or missing it either (no sour grapes like some people have been expressing). From my new ads on MH$P you'd think I spent the weekend painting this gal: Or this guy: But I didn't! I actually spent all day yesterday making a cool R2D2 cake! Not bad for someone who's never even sat through an episode of Star Wars! Pictures to follow, in the meantime, check out my ads online. I'm beginning to really want to ad something to my collection from my want list so I'd be pretty easy to negotiate a trade with for some of my new customs for the right OF model . . . try me!
It's finally raining here ( for about the last 24 hours!) and boy did we need it! That means I didn't get to spend much time painting or hanging out with the real horses outside. Cruise likes to hang his head out the barn door so that his muzzle gets wet and the rest of him stays dry!
I got bored last night as the rain was pitter pattering on the metal roof and decided to list a few horses on eBay just to free up some shelf space. Check them out! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fun-Horse-For-Halloween-W-Friendly-ish-Ghosts-/331650789981?hash=item4d37ed725d Hopefully I'll get a chance to work on the Arcane resin who's well on her way to becoming a black blanket appaloosa sometime tomorrow night. Saturday I'll be working on a cake for my buddy's son's b-day party. Last year's cake was Jake and the Neverland Pirates which was so much fun to do! I actually ended up making 2 cakes and a "sea" of cupcakes! This year's cake will be R2D2. No one could possibly appreciate Star Wars LESS than me so I hope I do it/him justice! Here is last year's creation! |
