So today I sculpted and crocheted instead of doing all things out of doors! Tomorrow I should have at least 1 model to begin priming!

. . . this morning from about 1-3. I am NOT OK with it! Apparently, neither were the horses because they woke me up with pounding, thumping and Guin squealing at about 1:30. When I hit the barn with the flashlight, they were in the same stall and Guin appeared to be kicking the crap out of Nighthawk for some reason (I suspect there was a dusting of hay). Well, I yelled, Nighthawk came trotting out the stall looking saved. I had strong words with Guin then went back to lay in bed. They were quiet the rest of the night. This morning, as predicted, Nighthawk has some "pony wounds." Hind leg, chest, barrel . . . Guiny is a jerk and she'll get stuck into a stall tonight. I can't even blame the snow for that behavior! The dog and I frantically drug my frozen, tender plants inside last night all coated in snow and stiff. They seem to be OK, as does the rest of the garden.
One of the things I've learned about my critters when I'm all of the sudden home ALL day long . . . . . . everyday (rain or shine) Guinivere goes "down for a nap" between 12:30 and 1:30. I knew she loves to lay down and take her dirt naps but I had not idea she did it regularly on weekdays. She's usually curled up in front of the doors on the stall mats, which are probably nice and warm by midday. Funny pony!
Saturday the pony got to come into the yard to be a guest in the kids online karate class and Nighthawk was less than thrilled by her absence. . . even though she was visible about 50 feet away the WHOLE TIME! Her annoyance lead to some neat action shots though! Afterwards the kid wanted to lead Guin around the turn out so that got the big mare even more riled up. We did some work around the barn yesterday, wiring up squirrel and bat access points and removing the door curtain. Then I did another major clean up in the tack room. I'm going to be listing some odds and ends on eBay one of these days.
In the evening I've been using pastels to get the Shire to a pretty shaded bay- pictures of him later! The weather started out weird this morning and I crocheted almost all of the boho cow. In the early afternoon we finally saw the sun and took the dog out for a walk. I brought home a rock (shocker, right?!) and then we played with the horses. I'm not riding Nighthawk hard but I'm making her think A LOT- like smoke coming out of her ears thinking for short periods of time! This neck reining thing is happening slowly but surely and I'm very proud of her! Today I even tortured her with carrying a flag. After dinner I finished the mane and did some other minor things on the "twin" Jakes for Yvonda. The next rainy day will be the day to do the tails! Have a great weekend everyone!
