Here's the place to find out what's on my painting table, what's happening around the farm, and what's coming up next!
This guy was just completed tonight and is looking for a great new home! Not sure what his Halloween costume is supposed to be but he sure came out neat! He's been listed on eBay in a 5 day auction to ensure that he's home in time for the holidays. I lost my artistic vision for him about 2/3 of the way through but I didn't stop working, so I'm not even sure what the heck he's supposed to be. I figure he could be a lizard, a baby dragon or even a flower if you stick a bloom on his head! It's totally up to his new family what he's going to be posing as! I can't wait to hear!

You can feel it in the air: autumn! It's here! It's in the leaves cascading down into my backyard like a fall snow globe. It's in the crispness of the air first thing in the morning. It's in the distance honking of geese on their high altitude southbound flight. It's also in the studio with what may be the last of the Halloween horses. It's getting late in the month and I never want them to go without a home for the season so this little guy might be the last of them: This afternoon I tried to get some nice Halloween/fall photos of the girls out back. Big Mare was more interested in eating the mums I brought out there- I should've known! She also excels in pumpkin rolling but not before trying to bite the stems off each one. Halloween costume and a cute, old Quarter Horse as a leopard appaloosa. Besides that there is a TON of sculpting work to occur. There's a Dundee who's been needing a mane for over a month, that Wintersong who is destined to have wings someday and a few others, too. Busy is good though!
Have a great fall weekend everyone doing whatever that means to you! That's everything lately! Busy at work, like as in actually having to GO there now instead of working from home . . . my 4 mile commute is killer! LOL In all seriousness, besides the potential exposure and having to wear a mask all day I'm loving being back with the kids. Busy in the barn, the girls have been part of my self care these last few weeks. They're working a lot more these days being either lunged or ridden 4-5 times per week. Clearly it's weighing heavily on the big mare . . . Guinivere is thrilled, too! She kinda rocks the free lunging thing- when she feels like it. Other times she takes great pleasure in galloping in circles snorting at me. I've also made time to work in the studio as well. There are a few long standing projects that I've been chipping away at little by little by little. I'm getting REALLY close to wrapping each one up. There's been a lot of sculpting work that I have to do in very small sections so there's a ton of drying time in between. Makes for seemingly slow progress.
I'll leave you to start the week with the 2020 official fall photo of Samuel and Nora: . . . and a couple of outtakes!
