We had our third snow day on Friday, which was kind of a shock because the roads seemed OK. I didn't mind one bit though because we had a girls night at the Horse World Expo in Harrisburg, PA!
We loaded up Friday afternoon and drove out 'til we saw Cabela's. There we stretched our legs, wandered for too long and each bought around 20 bucks worth of candy! We proceeded to chow down for the rest of the ride and had *just* barely enough time to check into the hotel, change and get dinner before seeing the Theatre Equus show at the convention center. It was so cool, and my camera was acting up, so I had to steal some pictures from:

to give you at least a taste. The craziest part was, for a Friday night show, the arena was barely half full. We couldn't believe it! If we were staying over on Saturday night we would've seen it again!
This lady, Sylvia (I'm so sorry I can't remember her last name) rode an Andalusian stallion and worked 3 at liberty. We were all wiping the droll off our faces! Guy McLean did a bunch of liberty work, too. We also got to see him working with a mare named Tulip on Saturday. He's got such a great way about him- I plan on purchasing some DVD's or something. |
After the show Friday we went back to the hotel and ate random snack and drank random Whiskey for a few hours before getting up Saturday and heading back to the expo. The first stop was to check out the Trail Horse Challenge which we all enjoyed last year. We saw some teams we recognized and some really pretty horses! Wish my camera had cooperated a little better (I think I have the settings wrong or something) Either way, here's what came out:
Something else to check out is the website for Gentle Giants Draft Horse Rescue. I dropped off Nighthawk's blanket from last year with them for use on their rescue horses. They're a great group and they're always looking for donations!
