On Sunday, my buddy and I took a drive down to Mane Stream in Oldwick, NJ to hit their twice annual used tack sale. We got there kind of late by their standards. It opens at 8 but people apparently line up around 7AM- um, no thank you! There were still some phenomenal deals to be had! Guin got a pretty lilac plaid dress sheet and this snazzy blue number will be shared between her and Apples:
But that wasn't even the best score of the day: I got a Crosby English bridle and reins set for only 2 bucks! I've spent the last 2 nights outside oiling it to death but it actually fits big mare and looks amazing considering the price! Turns out the thing must be "over sized" because it's adjusted right in the middle and fits her great!
I swapped a bit over from our dressage bridle and bought a new one for that. Easy, peasy schooling/trail bridle as soon as I'm done oiling and putting the thing back together. Now the bridle and saddle combination (not including the girth and pad) has cost me a whopping $82.00. I'm nothing if not a thrifty shopper! LOL
