2021 This custom Adios was a challenge with his open mouth and hanging tongue. He was SO much fun though! I named him "Dwight" since I spent most of my time painting with The Office on loop in the background. He sold 1 day after posting his "I Did It!" pictures. I was kind of bummed about sending him off so soon but I was overcome with gratitude and so, so flattered that it was another artist who wanted to add him to her herd.
Each February, hobby member Jennifer Buxton hosts "National Model Painting Month." Here are the models that have emerged from the studio while participating in this yearly artistic endeavor! 2021 This custom Adios was a challenge with his open mouth and hanging tongue. He was SO much fun though! I named him "Dwight" since I spent most of my time painting with The Office on loop in the background. He sold 1 day after posting his "I Did It!" pictures. I travelled more in February than I actually painted which turned out to be a good thing since the whole wide world would go into lockdown on or about March 13th. We spent one long weekend in New Hampshire and another one at the Horse World Expo out in PA. She's a neat model but I was more excited to work on a few others during this time such as my Buddy the Elf donkey custom. This lady has since been sold. 2019- This custom fuzzy winter Shannondell wasn't completed until mid March. I swear he weight 2-3 pounds in straight up epoxy from all his fuzz! He's a resident here at Ridge Farms and I have no intentions of having him move on even though I would love to have him shown at some point. He enjoys long trots on the beach on sunny winter days! 2018- CM Palouse that was my Mother's Day gift to my mom that year. I was looking at her the other day and it's kind of a shame that there is SO much detail . . . on her belly! Oh well, she's living the good life in a glass cabinet with a few others I did. 2017 Simple Custom Laredo to pasteled and painted leopard appaloosa. He was fun to paint but a challenge to photograph. He was eventually sold on eBay.
