After work yesterday we headed over to the state botanical gardens. As predicted, THEY WERE PACKED! There were droves of people, not social distancing, pushing strollers 3 across on the only access road and letting their kids walk into the ponds to catch turtles. We avoided all that crap and craziness by parking in the furthest lot possible and heading straight into the woods. There are tons of trails there that we've never really explored on account of we usually have the fields and gardens all to ourselves. Since that isn't the case for awhile, we're finding new pretty places to wander. These primroses were growing right across a path back in the woods, probably because it was so infrequently trafficked during the early season. I moved a few of them over to the side of the trail but, since you're really not supposed to mess with them, I had to be sneaky about it! This Great Blue Heron was fishing for his early dinner while we were on our way back to the truck. These birds are a sign to behold! |
On Friday, in between working, this guy got some final sculpting work done. I'm happy with the way he came out but I don't really feel like painting him right now. I'm just finishing up his prissy, fancy older brother! This guy has just been listed to MH$P and is looking for a great new home where he'll get some color!
