In other news, the Valley horse trailer finally made its journey to its new home in upstate New York! So glad it's going to get more frequent use up there but I was a little sad seeing it drive away since I bought it for Cruise when he turned 16. He always liked traveling (despite being with me when I learned how to tow) so I'm sure he's up there on a cloud somewhere looking down and glad someone's using it again.
The pink hibiscus in the backyard just started blooming yesterday, too. It's usually the last one on account of being in the most shade. That doesn't keep it from growing as high as the window tops though!
Both of these lovelies even survived the storm that blew through yesterday early afternoon. It was one of the more intense ones we've had in quite some time. The kid and I were a couple miles down the road taking care of a friend's horses when the thunder started and I saw the cloud. We threw everyone hay so they'd stay inside and rushed home in time to not get drenched. The rain was coming down so hard that, at one point, the barn was invisible! |
I have to got say that this guys has definitely made the list of my top 10 favorite models to paint! He's up there with my big drafters: Bartholomew, Armond and Theodore! I've got a few more things in the works that I hope to have done before school starts back up again: CM Idocus with new "feral" mane and tail CM Clydesdale mare with new mane and tail CM SM driving horse? flowy new mane |
