On Saturday, the girl and I wandered up to the River's Edge Horse Rescue and Sanctuary in order to donate a bunch of Cruise's blankets. It was kind of sad going through the tack room in the trailer and pulling out all his old stuff but I felt good about leaving it with horses who can use it. We ended up dropping off at least 3 winter blankets, 2 or 3 liners, a dress sheet and a bucket of odds and ends.
We also had a lovely visit with a bunch of cats, a few neat goats and some horses, too. The cool thing is that the rescue is having an online auction soon so I decided to paint a quick portrait model of one of their horses. My buddy, Rebecca, just send over some body models for me to play with and the classic trotting horse made a good portrait of their horse, Diamond.

Here's their Facebook page as well. This is where you'll find information about the online auction:

Sorry they're not hyperlinked. Someone who is far more technologically savvy could probably pull that off but not me.
The one I found today snuck up on me, too. I was sanding a pinhole in the back of her front leg when a 3/8 inch hold opened up- Ugh! Oh well! Her new owner wants to debut her at a show in mid- February and I want to make that happen for her so the work continues!
I'm about to mix up the epoxy to patch her up right now as a matter of fact. My final artistic endeavor before a full 5 day work week.
That's another reason I'd like to get the Daydreamer resin and the Valentine completed pretty soon and free myself up for the elaborate paintjob I've ambitiously planned for her.
Have a great week everyone!
